2 versions of Windows Media Player exist in x64 Vista. There is a 32bit version in %ProgramFiles(x86)% and a 64bit version in %ProgramFiles%

Vista Ultimate x64 uses the 32bit player as the system default. The installed components of this release include icons to allow you to change the system's default player between the 32bit and 64bit Windows Media Player.

Observation to be noted
One other aspect of Vista x64 Windows Media Player(s) needs to be mentioned. If you associate a particular filetype to open with WMP while the system default is set to use the 64bit player, that filetype will always open the 64bit player when doubleclicked. This occurs even if you change the system default back to using the 32bit player. (and vice-versa)

The 32bit player has better codec support at this time provided by the Vista Codec Package.

On my system, I set the 64bit Player as default and use Media Player Classic (MPC) for files the 64bit player's can't handle. Since MediaCenter uses Windows Media Players' playlist for its own library, I found this to be the best setup.

This release is a fully functional standalone installation which may be included in an unattended environment using the switch -ai and is 100% compatible with the 32bit codecs installed by the Vista Codec Package.

Math Center Level 2 1.0.1.4

Math software for students and teachers.

Math Center Level 2 consists of Scientific Calculator, Graphing Calculator 2D Numeric, Graphing Calculator 2D Parametric, and Graphing Calculator 2D Polar. Scientific Calculator resembles Advanced Calculator from Math Center Level 1 but requires higher level of mathematical education.

All simple functions like square and square root are absent. Instead, there are added Factorial, Sigma for sum series and Capital Pi for product series. With these functions you can calculate Taylor polynomials (series), for example. The Scientific Calculator has two editing windows.

One is for editing x, and the second is for editing f(x). In the x window you can enter any number or formula which contains numbers. In the f(x) window you can enter formulas containing numbers and formulas containing x. First, x will be calculated.

Then the result for x will be substituted into the formula for f(x). The presence of two editing windows demands switching between windows. You can do it by clicking buttons "go to x" and "go to f(x)", or by clicking inside the window. If you forget to enter x, then the x=1 will be assumed. If you forget to enter f(x), then f(x)=x will be assumed.

Scientific Calculator works in scientific mode. All numbers in internal calculations are treated in scientific format, like 1.23456789012345E+2 for 123.456789012345. You also can use scientific notation in formulas. If you get result NaN, like in ln(-1), that means that the function is not defined for given argument. Otherwise Scientific Calculator is similar to Simple Calculators. There are options to save and print calculation history, to change font, and standard editing options.

Graphing Calculator 2D Numeric is a further development of Graphing Calculator2D from Math Center Level 1. It has extended functionality: hyperbolic functions are added. There are also added new capabilities which allow calculating series, product series, Permutations, Combinations, Newton Binomial Coefficients, and Gauss Binomial Coefficients . Graphing Calculator 2D Numeric has capability to build graphs for first and second derivatives, definite integral (area under curve) and length integral (length of curve). Since these calculations are done numerically, not symbolically, the calculator is called Numeric.

Graphing Calculator 2D Parametric is a generalization of Graphing Calculator 2D Numeric. Now x and y are functions on parameter ·�. If you are typing formula using keyboard, then you can use "tau" for ·� . Since all calculations are done twice, for x and y, there was some sacrificing of precision in order to keep speed of calculations. So, although it is possible to build the same graph of y=f(x) in parametric calculator using x=·�, y=f(·�), the Graphing Calculator 2D Numeric will build it with greater precision.

Graphing Calculator 2D Polar is a specialization of Graphing Calculator 2D Numeric. Instead of x the argument is angle ·�. If you are typing formula directly into the edit window, then you can use "theta" for ·�.

Debrief offers users a fast way to take down notes and stay on top of their ideas. With its simple layout and directions, this tool will find many fans.

The program's interface may initially worry some, but they will soon discover most of the icons crowding the top of this program are unnecessary. A few minutes of experimenting and clicking around will serve the user much better than a trip to the Help file, though it's available. The program functions primarily as a note-taker. Users click on an icon to write a note and treat it like a word processor (the program is complete with options to change font, color and other text options). The program's biggest asset is its ability to catalog these notes with simple files. Organized like a file tree, users create and save their notes in Personal, Business, or customized folders. The second component of the program is a calendar, which shows what notes are happening on each day. While we would have liked to see an alarm system, this is still a fairly good way to get a glimpse of your daily life. The program's best special feature is its ability to run off reports. Users can see all their personal or business notes run off, or can have specific days filtered into the report.

While the program initially appears cluttered, we found this freeware program to be an excellent tool for those trying to keep their lives simple and organized.
